All Odebolt Listings

First State Bank

A century old as of 2015, the First State Bank of Ida Grove can trace its history to 1915 when it was opened as First National Bank of Ida Grove. It operated through 1934 before being closed to the public for 33 years; Odebolt State Bank operated the building until 2008 when the bank was sold to its current owner. The building maintains a small history room and is open as a working bank from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and until 6:00 p.m. on Fridays.

Iowa Rural Schools Museum

In October 2011, the Richland #1 rural school house was moved from the country to Heritage Square in Odebolt. It's been furnished with country school memorabilia from Odebolt area and state of Iowa, including some artifacts dating to the school's opening in 1883. Regular hours are Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and weekends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Memorial Day through October.

Odebolt Historical Museum

Located on the northeast corner of 2nd and Maple Streets as part of the Heritage Square district in Odebolt, the museum contains a number of exhibits and local artifacts. Open by appointment only by calling the numbers below.

Peterson Pioneer Home

In 2012, the Peterson Pioneer Home was moved from its original site on Walnut Street to the newly-minted Historical Square in Odebolt. It's a fine example of an 1886 pioneer home for a family of seven that remains in near-original condition.

What sprouted as a backyard business in 1985 has grown to a seven-acre farmstead with more than 75 themed gardens, all neatly arranged to delight visitors throughout the growing season. Participate in a guided tour or browse leisurely. Special groups and clubs may arrange private tours by calling for reservations; sack lunches are available and buses are more than welcome. Peak season is April through mid-October.
