Iowa’s Small Business Development Center in Fort Dodge provide free, confidential, customized, professional business advice to entrepreneurs and existing businesses with 500 employees or less. They also present affordable workshops that teach practical skills and techniques, conduct research, provide comprehensive information services, and offer access to subject matter experts in a variety of fields. Their 15 regional business assistance centers are hosted by the three Iowa Regent institutions, ten community colleges, and one regional economic development entity, all coordinated through the state center at Iowa State University. Each regional center encourages unique local efforts, region to region and community to community, to meet small business needs throughout the state. 2015 Iowa Small Business Report

Compiled by the UNI Center for Business Growth and Innovation, the 2015 Iowa Small Business Report is a statewide survey which provides a comprehensive look at Iowa’s small business experience in 2015. The report, based on the annual small business survey, looks at sales trends, job growth or loss, capital acquired, and business use of technology among Iowa business owners with fewer than 50 employees.
